this week's menu and bowie update

Late winter burnout in progress.

I'm about halfway through the blouse for my Bowie suit.  Tomorrow I'll start the jacket.  The fitting and planning stage for the jacket has taken so much time that I find myself hesitant and nervous about actually cutting and sewing it!

Here's what I made in the kitchen.  I put a couple bento photos on instagram and twitter (@theslowsteady), thinking maybe that's a way to get involved and figure out what's going on there.  Can't say I don't minimally try to sort of stay one step behind in the social media.  Spring is coming, and I'm sure soon I won't be so overwhelmed by every little thing.

dinners:
miso soup, tabouli with edamame, steamed broccoli (after delicious fried lunch and a milkshake at Bark Dogs)

cheddar and broccoli quiche, bibb salad with mustard dressing, purchased half roast chicken

slow roasted salmon, fried brown rice with fennel, olives, and broccoli (not a success story, this dinner)

farfalle with golden beets and pine nuts

sweet potato peanut soup, corn muffins

Jamaican rice and peas; pineapple, jicama, and mint salad; snow peas

bentos:
leftover quiche
leftover tabouli with edamame
steamed broccoli, cherry tomatoes, fruit combos
shrimp and rice salad with parsley and olives

also:
whole wheat banana blueberry muffins, granola

    1. Thank you, Meredith. Likewise I'm glad I got myself to the garment district Sat to meet you and others in three dimensions! I'd love to follow what you're up to-- and I see you've set up a blog. . .
